Meet Peter – Massage Therapist at Ibiza Balance

How long have you been on the island?

I moved to Ibiza in August 1995 and I’ve been living on the island since. I’ve been working with the Ibiza Balance team for six years now.

What’s your speciality?

Deep tissue massages.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Helping people. It’s the best thing when a client gets off the table with a smile on their face.

Ibiza Balance: Massage

What are your qualifications?

I studied Swedish body relaxation massage in London. And I’ve taken courses with Anika to hone my expertise in therapeutic deep tissue massage and stomach massage.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Ibiza Balance is so well organised with really high standards. The team is great and inspiring.

How would you describe the Ibiza Balance client?

Ibiza Balance clients know what they want, so I always experience good moments with them. There are a lot of clients which over the years keep coming back and for a therapist it’s really interesting to work with clients over longer periods.

What do you love about the island?

Its beauty and its variety – one day it’s an early morning, energising swim in aguas blancas, the next day, it’s a crazy afternoon party on a beach. I also love to cook a lot and work in the garden.

How do you maintain your own personal balance?

For me, personal balance includes sport, having a good diet (every morning warm lemon juice on empty stomach, followed by porridge only with water, then a couple of cups of green tea). Although I do also love my chocolate… What do you see in Ibiza’s future?

Ibiza has changed lot since I arrived. Over the past three years the island has got much more busy, but it is still possible to find your peace here.

Passion: deep tissue massage

Mission: to make a real difference to clients through massage

Belief: balance includes exercise, diet and chocolate!

How long have you been in Ibiza?

I’ve been living in Ibiza since 2005, and I’ve been part of the Ibiza Balance team since 2010 – it’s been a great six years!

What do you specialize in?

Shiatsu, Traditional Thai massage and Deep Tissue Massage

What do you love most about your job?

I love to help people to relax, feel better, and get rid of aches and pains. It’s a pleasure to see the change in attitude after people have received one of my treatments – you can see it all over their faces.

What are your main educations?

I have studied Shiatsu, Quiromassage, Traditional Thai Massage, various Spa technics and massage for pregnant women.

What do you enjoy most about working for Ibiza Balance?

I like to work with Ibiza Balance because it’s a very professional team that embodies the spirit of partnership and mutual trust. I feel like I am an integral member of the company and I also feel there is a lot of opportunity for professional growth. I have always felt fully endorsed and supported, which makes me feel confident in my own skills.

What are Ibiza Balance clients like?

I have always had very positive experiences with Ibiza Balance clients. In general, the people I have worked with are very polite.

How do you spend your free time?

I love to discover the island through the wonderful places where I go for work. I love Ibiza during the winter, when the island is quiet and it’s without its summer madness. I enjoy the markets, the local festivities and outdoor life. In summer, I like to enjoy my free time by going to the Pou des Lleo beach with family and friends.

What do you do for your own personal balance?

I like to stretch everyday, and to eat as healthily as I can – local and seasonal food. I also like to get a massage at least twice a month, and I also practice yoga.
